Urban Teaching Apprenticeship

Special Topics Seminars allow us to bring in outside speakers and/or concentrate more fully on critically important topics. We typically provide sessions on visual arts and integrated arts, childhood sexual development, LGBT issues, and addressing issues of race.

We currently offer 12 hours of instruction specifically on evaluation and 10 hours of using technology for teaching and learning. While many of these sessions are permanent parts of our program, the special topics format allows us to focus on the specific needs of our current students and the contemporary educational landscape. Special topics are distributed across the five terms of the elementary/middle years program.
